In this chapter we’ll expand the concept of baptism. Baptism in Yeshua’s testimony is an initiatory ordinance that witnesses our entry into a new way or new reality. It symbolizes burying our old way and rising out of the water into Yeshua’s testimony into a new reality. That process takes us from an earthly and worldly state to heaven and eternity. The Process of Perfection Our Process of Perfection looks like this:
From Earthly to Heavenly We saw in the Book of Hebrews that Yeshua’s testimony connects humanity with heaven and eternity. This connection with heaven and eternity was linked to a change in the priesthood from the Levitical Priesthood to the Melchizedek Priesthood.
Israel and all believers can connect themselves with heaven and eternity by first being baptized into Yeshua’s testimony. Ancient Israel and Baptism We can see in the Old Testament this concept of baptism burying an old way and beginning in a new way with ancient Israel. As the children of Israel passed through the Red Sea, it symbolized baptism bury their old way in Egypt to a new reality under the rule of the true god – Yehovah. If ancient Israel had remained faithful to Yehovah, He would have created a kingdom for them under the Melchizedek Priesthood.
Yeshua Connects the Tabernacle with Heaven Another concept we see in the Book of Hebrews is Yeshua connecting the Tabernacle with heaven. We see this correlation in the Inner Court, the Holy Place, the Holy of Holies with the Holy Spirit, the Son, and the Father.
Baptizing in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit In the 28th chapter of Matthew, we see Yeshua commanding His apostles to baptize in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, which is a direct reference that we see in Yeshua’s Tabernacle. “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:” - v.19. So the use of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is not a reference to a “godhead”. It is the general organizing principle of Yeshua’s testimony. Kingdom of God on the Earth Today, we could have God’s Kingdom on the earth if we had a people living the Law under the Melchizedek Priesthood.
Kingdom of Heaven When we look at Heaven and Eternity, we see this.
Fathers/Men as Priests Fathers and men have a divine right of authority to baptize. We see this indicated at 1 Corinthians 11:3. “But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.” Men should first baptize themselves into Yeshua’s Testimony with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then they can baptize others. The New Covenant Yeshua’s Testimony is enshrined in the New Covenant, which we will discuss in our next section of being Born of the Spirit
