This chapter wraps-ups being Born of God and Individual Salvation with being Sealed by the Holy Spirit. When a person has proven their loyalty to God by passing the Baptism of Fire and has overcome their carnal nature and received the gifts of the Spirit through the Baptism of the Spirit, their covenants of Sanctification are made permanent and unconditional. This state of having one’s covenants made permanent and unconditional is known as being Sealed by the Holy Spirit. Moreover, they receive a tangible manifestation of the Spirit witnessing their ascent to a new level of blessedness. The Process of Perfection Our Process of Perfection looks like this:
Sealed by the Holy Spirit In our review of Baptism under being Born of the Water, we entered into a temporary and conditional agreement with God to keep the Covenants of Sanctification – Abrahamic, Threshold, Priesthood, and Sinai. These Covenants become permanent and unconditional after we strove to live the Law and endured a trial of faith that changed our hearts and spirits. This state of having these covenants made permanent and unconditional is to have these covenants Sealed by the Holy Spirit, which we see at Eph. 1:13. “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,” A believer having their covenants sealed by the Holy Spirit binds these covenants with Heaven and Eternity through Yeshua’s redemption of humanity – the Messianic Covenant. The Covenant that God made with Abraham is one such covenant that God made permanent after Abraham demonstrated his loyalty to God when he was willing to give God his only son as a sacrifice. A Manifestation of the Holy Spirit At this point, those who have been sealed by the Holy Spirit, receive a manifestation of the Spirit that confirms their new status. In the scriptures, we see these manifestations of the Spirit. Yeshua had the Spirit descend in the form of dove at His baptism and in Acts during Shavuot/Day of Pentecost the Spirit is manifested as tongues of fire over the Apostles. Though there are other manifestations of the Spirit such as miracles and healings, the manifestation here has a specific confirming purpose as a witness that a person has been Born of God. A New Creation of the Holy Spirit Our journey through mortality is to become like Yeshua. This process requires us as fallen beings to be re-created and transformed into God’s image and likeness. The first of these re-creations and transformations is to become a new creation of the Holy Spirit, which we have set out in our review of Sanctification.
Zion/Jerusalem Those who achieve this level of blessedness the prophet Isaiah refers to as Zion/Jerusalem - God’s Pure In Heart - His Covenant People. They receive an inheritance in the Endtime Kingdom of God and in the Millennium and enjoy a 1,000 years of peace under the rule of their God – Yehovah-Yeshua. And in eternity, in the House of the Son. Dr. Gileadi comments, “Zion/Jerusalem keeps the terms of God’s covenant. Covenant curses turn into covenant blessings as God’s people prove loyal to God. God’s people pass three [Endtime] tests of loyalty and escape Babylon’s fiery desolation. God’s people ascend the ladder [to Heaven] and inherit Paradise.” (Isaiah Decoded, p.135) A New Name and a New Identity Names in the Bible can connote a person’s status before God. We see that Abram and Sara’s names were changed and so did their status when they met the conditions of the covenant that they make with Yehovah. Believers who embrace the Torah as still relevant law, usually take the names of Abraham and Sarah, which is a practice that we see in mainstream Judaism. Moreover, those who are Born of God receive another new name, which God will reveal to believers when they have become Born of God.
