In this review of Born of the Blood, we’ll look at the seven basic laws that we linked to the Light of Messiah in the last chapter and God gave to humanity. Jewish sages and rabbis have synthesized and extrapolated seven basic laws for all humanity. These seven basic laws are known as the Noahide Laws, because it is believed these are the seven basic laws that God revealed to Noah after the flood. Then we’ll summarize what we have learned about those who are redeemed by creating a redeemed profile. The Process of Perfection Our Process of Perfection looks like this:
Universal Law The Noahide Laws are universal laws that establish a minimum standard for a stainable civilization and are consistent with what we would expect would be included with the Light of Messiah. These seven Noahide laws as traditionally enumerated in the Babylonian Talmud Sanhedrin 56a-b and Tosefta Avodah Zarah 8:4, are the following: Not to worship idols. Not to curse God. No to commit murder. Not to commit adultery, bestiality, or sexual immorality. Not to steal. Not to eat flesh torn from a living animal. To establish courts of justice. Not to worship idols Idolatry is the worship or excessive devotion to anything other than the one true God, which includes making physical idols, but also extends to placing ultimate trust, desire, or importance on people, objects, power, wealth, or other worldly concepts. Not to curse God. Cursing God goes beyond speaking ill of Him. It requires all men to be accountable for their actions to His ultimate and righteous judgement. This is why witnesses in courts of law swear their testimonies under God. Not to commit murder. The sanctity and value of human life is absolute and must be protected. Not to commit adultery, bestiality, or sexual immorality. A prohibition against forbidden sexual relations, including adultery and incest. Man is to protect his creative power because of the consequences to individual lives and on the stability of society. God places such a high importance on this that it is a capital offense in Israel’s law code. Not to steal This includes robbery, theft, and other forms of dishonest acquisition, which serves to maintain order in society. Not to eat flesh torn from a living animal. A command to respect the life of all creatures that God has created and avoid causing undue pain to animals. To establish courts of justice The positive commandment to set up legal systems and courts to ensure fairness and to maintain societal order. Redeemed Profile We can now summarize what we see for those who are redeemed with the table below.
