CHAPTER 12
God's Sons/Servants, Proxy Saviors
What Judah should see here in chapter 12 is centered around those righteous persons like Abraham, Moses and King Hezekiah who functioned as deliverers and saviors. See also Judges 3:9,15. In an Endtime context, the 144,000 Servant/Saviors gather the righteous remnant of Israel and graphed-in gentiles in an exodus out of Babylon.
God’s Sons/Servants
Ascending above Zion – God’s Covenanted People – are individuals who are God’s “sons/servants” and “daughters/handmaidens” who serve as saviors and deliverers to God’s people. These make individual covenants with God instead of a collective covenant with those of Zion. As with nearly all of God’s covenants, they are conditional initially but then become unconditional and everlasting when they have fulfilled the terms of the covenant and endured a test of faith. Here in chapter 12 we see the primary concepts associated with those who are God’s Sons/Servants and Daughters.

Becoming Perfected
The very first concept we see presented in verse 1 is to become perfected by “laying aside every weight and sin”.
Perfection in Messiah first begins with those who have been Born Again living the Law in the fullness of Messiah. We saw in chapter 10 that those who are Born Again received forgiveness for their sins and iniquities, but overcoming dysfunctional behaviors due to iniquities – usually related to trauma/subconscious defects – occurs with God’s Sons/Servants/Daughters.
In chapter 6, we saw that perfection included the example of Abraham through an extreme test of faith and marriage. Moreover, we saw the Messiah as an example of perfection by overcoming all sin, receiving a fullness of knowledge and having perfect character illustrated in the temple menorah - being perfect as the Father is perfect.
Proxy Salvation
In verses 2 to 8, we see aspects of proxy salvation in looking to Messiah, enduring chastening or suffering and are “sons”. Isaiah’s model of proxy salvation is setout with the example of King Hezekiah at the Assyrian siege of Jerusalem.
Entering into individual compacts with [God] under the terms of the Davidic Covenant, they act as proxy saviors of others in the pattern of King Hezekiah at Assyria’s siege of Jerusalem. Lending substance to his intercession with Jehovah, the king’s suffering satisfies the requirements of justice for his people’s disloyalties to their God and Jehovah accepts the king’s petition: “Thus says Jehovah, the God of your father David: ‘I have heard your prayer and seen your tears. I will add fifteen years to your life. And I will deliver you and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; I will protect this city’” (Isaiah 38:5–6). In other words, after king and people pass his test of their loyalties, Jehovah delivers the people and their proxy savior from their respective mortal threats. He sends his angel, who slays the besieging Assyrian army in one night (Isaiah 37:36).- Avraham Gileadi, PhD
Are Holy
In verses 9 through 14, we see that holiness is connected to those who are God’s Sons/Servants and Daughters. Holiness is a term that we see associated with God, the Father and with those who are received into the House of the Father. We saw this connection of holiness in chapter 11 with the House of the Father and God’s Sons/Servants at Rev. 22:11.

Sees God
In verses 18 to 21, we see that those who become God’s Sons/Servants see the god that Moses saw on Mount Sinai, which is Yehovah-Yeshua, the Son of God.
“As a foretaste of their return “home” to dwell in God’s presence, Jehovah appears to his sons/servants on the earth and ministers to them in person. Just as they had ministered to others, both spiritually and physically, and as they themselves had been ministered to by angels to prepare them for this moment, so Israel’s God himself now ministers to them and they receive his promise of eternal blessedness. As that promise depended on their demonstrating “loyalty” to God and “compliance” with his will—on living the higher law of their individual covenants and serving God [under an extreme trial]—so they have now come to know him. They now have no more need to believe that God lives; they know he lives and loves them [the second comforter].” – Avraham Gileadi, PhD
Eternity and the House of the Father
Here in verses 22 to 29, we see references to Eternity and with those who are received into the House of the Father. Those who are received into the House of the Father are -
In the company of angels – v.22.
Church of the firstborn – v.23.
Just men made perfect – v. 23

Eternity
In verses 25 to 29, we see a transition into eternity with language of the shaking of the earth and heavens, which takes us to Revelations 21, 22 with the formation of a new heaven and a new earth. References to God here are connected to God, the Father.
