CHAPTER 9
The "New" Covenant is Perfect and at the End of the World
The main theme that Judah should see in chapter 9 is that the “New” Covenant is perfect in Messiah. This means that certain aspects of the Old Covenant were imperfect or flawed. Chapter 9 lists specific parts of the Old Covenant that are imperfect and how Yeshua perfected them in the “New” Covenant.
Earthly and Heavenly
The first concept that we see introduced in chapter 9 is that Earthly is considered imperfect and Heavenly is perfect without flaws.

The Tabernacle
The first law we see in chapter 9 that Yeshua made perfect in the “New” Covenant is the Tabernacle. Chapter 9 opens with a simple recitation, through verse 7, of Israel’s Tabernacle - v.2 the Holy Place, v.3,4,5 the Holy of Holies and the priestly services in verses 6 and 7. Further, verse 1 refers to Israel’s Tabernacle as an earthly or worldly tabernacle.
In verses 8 to 10, we see that the Tabernacle’s full meaning, as a shadow of Heaven, had not been fully manifested – wasn’t revealed by the Holy Spirit v.7, was a “figure”, idea or shadow of what it really does mean v.9, waited until its full meaning would be revealed in Messiah v.10.
In verse 11, we see that Messiah/Christ’s Heavenly Tabernacle is greater and perfect and is not made of mortal hands.

Immortality
In verse 12, we see that the blood of goats and calves could not obtain immortality, but the blood of Yeshua obtained immortality or eternal physical salvation.

Atonement for Sin
In verses 13 and 14, we see that atonement from the blood of bulls and goats was of the flesh but is perfect in the blood of Messiah that cleanses our conscience.

In verse 15, we see that Yeshua’s death also covered transgression under the Old Covenant.
The Old Covenant put enforce at Yeshua’s Death
In the balance of the chapter, we see that Yeshua did not make the laws of the first/old covenant/testament listed here enforce until He died. The Old Covenant became enforce at Yeshua’s death, otherwise the Old Covenant was of no strength v.17, under Messiah the sacrifices were better v.23, the Old Covenant became perfect/true v.24, under Messiah he put away sin v.26.

We can see that anytime animal blood was used in the first/old testament/covenant it is perfected in Messiah. But, then of course, Israel must accept Yeshua as the Messiah.
The “New” Covenant, the End of the World and the Millennium
In verse 28, we see Yeshua appear at his second coming to those who are perfected in Him. What we see at the end of the world is that we won’t get to the Millennium without the “New” Covenant and the Melchizedek Priesthood.
1. The righteous remnant of the House of Israel will be gathered and receive protection through the 144,000 Endtime Melchizedek Saviors.
2. Those who have not been Born Again under the New Covenant before the Second Coming will be unable to endure the Messiah’s presence.
3. Animal sacrifices in the Millennium are for memorial purposes only and not the atonement of sin, which is perfected in Messiah.
