One of the great commonalities that the Founding of America has with Ancient Israel, is that God freed ancient Israel from Egyptian bondage and created a free nation. We see that here with America, God creating a free nation from the oppression of British rule, and that much of what made America’s system of free government was based on the laws and principles reveal to Moses and instituted by ancient Israel. Endtime Event Sequence So as a preparatory Endtime event, we see America being established as a free nation under divine law. This section of the weekly posts will accumulate our Endtime events.
Divine Law At the very beginning of America’s founding, there was an acknowledgement that the rights of men come from God. This concept is borne out by America’s Declaration of Independence. A review of the Declaration of Independence makes this obvious that Americans entered into a covenant with God. "When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation." "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." And further, that those rights of man and those principles of freedom can be found in the laws God gave to Moses. Some of the principles of freedom found in divine law that are included in America’s form of government include: Freedom is sustained by a virtuous and moral people. A bottom up flow of political power where government is by the people. An informed electorate. Representative Government. Separation of Powers. Laws limiting government's scope of control. A common Militia. Hard money based on gold or silver. Our Three Prophecies Let us now see how our three prophecies shape up with America as a free nation under divine law. The Fourth Turning In the Second Turning we see The Great Awakening (second turning- 1724-1741) that influenced the movement in America for freedom, which included the Liberty Generation with the likes of George Washington, John Adams and Frances Marion. Their generation is largely responsible for the fight for freedom and the Declaration of Independence, which asserts that the rights of men come from God. In the Third turning 1746-1773, we see The Republican Generation who crafted the Constitution and integrated the biblical principles of freedom into America's form of government, which generation included Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and Abigail Adams (wife of John Adams). The Book of Isaiah In the Book of Isaiah, we see Jehovah referring to wise founding fathers who established Egypt. “The ministers of Zoan are utter fools; the wisest of Pharaoh’s advisers give absurd counsel. How can you say to Pharaoh, We ourselves are as wise as the first rulers?” (Isaiah 19:11) As an American prophecy, we see wise founding fathers in America, who established a free nation under divine law. The Book of Mormon As a primary theme in the Book of Mormon, we see America being established as a free land under divine law. "Wherefore, this land is consecrated unto him whom he shall bring. And if it so be that they shall serve him according to the commandments which he hath given, it shall be a land of liberty unto them; wherefore, they shall never be brought down into captivity; if so, it shall be because of iniquity; for if iniquity shall abound cursed shall be the land for their sakes, but unto the righteous it shall be blessed forever." 2 Nephi 1:7 As we will see, freedom under divine law is the key theme about what we can expect for an Endtime restoration that has not yet taken place. Conclusion
One thing that we see in the founding of America, is that America was not a full-blown biblical theocracy. The principles woven into the America founding government consider America as a pluralistic society so a fullness of divine law could not be implemented. However, we will see a great shift transpire at an Endtime restoration among a remnant of God's people.
