The Restoration of All Things

​Last week we reviewed the return of Elijah, which we saw was an Endtime Servant that came in the spirit and power of Elias. And that he would restore all things - Matt 17:11.  In this week's post we'll consider the series of events that are involved in order to restore all things.

Our Three Prophecies

The Fourth Turning
At the close of a fourth turning, emerges a new social order. This new social order is established by Prophets who give orders and by Heros that do great deeds.  Here are the new social orders that came out of the Anglo-American Crises and a prophecy for a Millennial Crisis:

​Armada Crisis (1569-1594)	England entered the Crisis a strife-ridden heretical nation;	it emerged a first-rank European power and the heart of an expanding global empire.
Glorious Revolution Crisis (1675-1704)	English-speaking America entered the Crisis a fanatical colonial backwater;	it emerged a stable provincial society whose learning and affluence rivaled the splendor of its European home.
American Revolution Crisis (1773-1794)	British America entered the Crisis as loyal if violence-prone colonies;	it emerged the most ambitious experiment in republican democracy [Constitutional Republic] the world had ever seen.
Civil War Crisis (1860-1865)	The United States entered the Crisis a racially divided agrarian republic;	it emerged an industrializing dynamo, battle scarred yet newly dedicated to the principle of equal citizenship.
Great Depression and World War II Crisis (1929-1946)	The United States entered the Crisis an isolationist, industrializing also-ran;	it emerged a global superpower whose industrial prowess, democratic institutions, and Marshall plan generosity became the wonder of the free world and the envy of its new Soviet rival.
The Millennial Crisis (2008-???)	The United States enters the Crisis in an info-techno age with cultural differences, growing social problems, and competing values;	it emerges as a techno-agrarian biblical theocracy. ​

The Book of Isaiah
Here is how Dr. Gileadi sums up Isaiah's prophecy of America:

"All is not lost, however, as a community of covenanters in Egypt turns back to Israel’s God, who sends them a savior and delivers them. While Egypt as a whole suffers covenant curses for its godlessness, a righteous people within the nation become Egypt’s salvation: “Jehovah will make himself known to the Egyptians, and the Egyptians shall know Jehovah in that day. They will worship by sacrifice and offerings, and make vows to Jehovah and fulfill them. Jehovah will smite Egypt, and by smiting heal [it]: they will turn back to Jehovah, and he will respond to their pleas and heal them” (Isaiah 19:21–22). To be healed of iniquity and to know the God of Israel is to be his covenant people indeed!" (Gileadi, America in the Prophecy of Isaiah)


The Book of Mormon
In the Book of Mormon, we see the phrases of  "the work of the Father" and "a marvelous work and a wonder" to refer to this Endtime restoration of all things;

"For in that day, for my sake shall the Father work a work, which shall be a great and a marvelous work among them; and there shall be among them those who will not believe it, although a man shall declare it unto them."  3 Nephi 21:9
