Thoughts on Davidic Kingship In this chapter of Born of the Blood, we will look at the Messianic Covenant. Covenants are the instruments that God uses to define our relationship with Him. The most basic of all covenants is the Messianic Covenant. Through Yeshua/Jesus' Atonement, Death and Resurrection all Mankind is redeemed from the transgression of Adam and Eve and the resultant eternal physical and spiritual death. Here we will call this sin by Adam and Eve a "Universal Sin" since all of humanity is subject to it. The Process of Perfection Our Process of Perfection looks like this:
The Messianic Covenant The Messianic Covenant is a grant covenant. A grant covenant is when the obligation to perform the terms of the covenant is borne by one party or is a unilateral agreement. Yeshua fulfilled His obligations under the Messianic Covenant through His Atonement, Death and Resurrection. Yeshua, through His Atonement, Death and Resurrection, reversed the consequences of Adam and Eve’s transgression, which brought eternal physical and spiritual death to them and their posterity. All humanity became subject to this “Universal Sin”. We see these concepts expressed at 1 Corinthians 15:21,22. “For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.” Three Types of Sin In the scriptures, we see three types of sin – Universal Sin, Personal Sin and Inherited Sin. Those who take upon them name of Messiah as their savior are redeemed from “Universal Sin”.
Universal Sin and Redemption Redemption from Universal Sin has both a physical and spiritual component. Physical Salvation As we saw in the fifteenth chapter of Corinthians, all men will be saved from physical death or resurrected. This physical salvation came because of Yeshua’s death and resurrection. Spiritual Salvation All men, also, receive the Light of Messiah that helps them to know right from wrong - our conscience, which occurs with feelings and thoughts of guilt – John 1:9. Those who respond to the Light of Messiah receive the influence of the Holy Spirit but not the presence of the Son or the Father in eternity. For those who don’t respond to the Messiah’s Light in mortality and commit wrongful acts, they will suffer commensurate with their wrongful actions in hell until they are resurrected. Moreover, we can link the Noahide Laws to Light of Messiah for those who are basic honest and decent people. Finally, as we saw in the last chapter, that through Yeshua's Atonement, God will compensate for all of the wrongful and unjust injuries to humanity. Yeshua’s Nail Prints – the Covenant Sign All of God's covenants have a covenant sign, which is an ongoing witness that we are actively in a covenant with God. For instance, the sign of the Sinai Covenant is the seventh-day sabbath. Here, with the Messianic Covenant, the covenant sign is the nail prints in Yeshua's hands and feet Resurrection of the Unjust and the Second Death For those who violated the Light of Messiah and suffered for their wrongful acts in hell, they receive the resurrection of the unjust by accepting Yeshua as humanity’s redeemer and the presence of the Son will be withheld from them in eternity. “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” – Philippians 2:10-11 “And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust. And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.” – Acts 24:15,16 “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” – Revelations 21:8 Receiving the Presence of the Son Since God is just, those who respond to the Messiah’s Light in mortality will receive an opportunity to accept the conditions to receive the presence of the Son in the spirit realm before the resurrection – 1 Peter 3:18,19.
