In this review, we are going to shift gears and look at Davidic Kingship in the New Testament. Some have interpreted Yeshua’s and Paul's teaching on Davidic Kingship as a replacement of the Gospel set out in the Old Testament. But this is not so.  Davidic Kingship is a progressional step of ascension of blessedness. Individuals who overcome individual sin are called Zion/Jerusalem in the Book of Isaiah.  By and large sin is defined in the Torah.  But those who go onto perfection are God’s Elect as called in the New Testament whom Isaiah refers to His Son/Servants-Daughters/Handmaidens. Son/Servants are proxy deliverers – God’s leadership. Examples of proxy deliverers in the Bible include Abraham's deliverance of Lot from Sodom. Moses offering his life to save the children of Israel. And King Hezekiah suffering to deliver of his people.  In this review, we look at Isaiah's, Yeshua’s and Paul's teaching on Davidic Kingship.

Jacob Ladder to Heaven
When we review Isaiah’s categories of Humanity, we see three levels of blessedness that man can reach in this world.  That progression looks like this:
-
-
Seraphim
(God's Angelic Messengers)
-
Son-Servants
(Proxy Deliverers)
-
Zion-Jerusalem
(God's Covenant People)

New Testatment Teaching on Davidic Kingship
The Davidic Covenant forms the basis of the requirements of Davidic Kingship.  Son-Servants as Proxy Deliverers enter into the Davidic Covenant as do God's Angelic Messengers.  Yeshua's and Paul's teaching on Davidic Kingship include:

These do the Will of the Father - Matthew 12:50.
These reach the Full Stature and Image of the Messiah - Ephesians 4:13.
These are Perfect as the Father is Perfect - Matthew 5:48.
These Go onto Perfection - Hebrews 6:1
Those who reach the Full Stature of Messiah are High Priests - Hebrews 7
Have their Calling and Election made Sure - 2 Peter 1:10

Moreover, Davidic King requirements and responsibilities include - whether in their own families or in a community of believers:

                                                                      They are Married.
                                                They have overcome personal weaknesses.
They have acquired traits and attributes of the Messiah.
                                                               They have their faith tried.
They Establish the Laws of God in their families or communities
They Are Accountable and may Suffer for the Transgressions of his Family or Community

Once they have proven their absolute loyalty to God - they see God-Jehovah.

Summary
Summarizing those who reach the Son/Servant/Elect level of righteousness, Dr. Gileadi said,

"Ascending from the Zion/Jerusalem category are valiant souls who sanctify their lives by emulating Israel’s Savior-God and assimilating his attributes and perfections. Entering into individual compacts with him under the terms of the Davidic Covenant, they act as proxy saviors of others in the pattern of King Hezekiah at Assyria’s siege of Jerusalem. Proving loyal to Israel’s God through a descent phase of trials and afflictions, they are re-created in his image and likeness and inherit lands and posterities by an unconditional covenant. They serve as kings and queens to others of God’s people in bringing them into a covenant relationship with him, laying the groundwork for a transformation of the earth when Jehovah comes to establish his reign of peace."
