Renewing a Relationship: The Abrahamic Covenant
As was stated in the previous post, the feasts found in Lev. 23 commemorate a developing relationship with God. We saw elements in Passover that indicated the initiation of a relationship with God as fathers claimed their sovereign authority over their families under God. Furthermore, Shavuot continues this theme as Israel commemorates receiving the Torah or God's full law, which defines a full relationship with God. During the counting of the Omer, we'll review the balance of God's covenants. Here we will review the Abrahamic Covenant as men and women are set apart to be God's Chosen People.
