Thoughts on Torah for Last Week: Before I get into the Torah portion, I would like to take a moment and praise God since I came to Torah. Since I left my old non-Torah belief system and embraced Torah as God’s Way, I have seen the power of God come into my life in tangible ways – God has blessed me with an ever-expanding knowledge of His Work – a gift of the Spirit. God has sent His Spirit that purged the carnal/fallen nature of man from me and given me a new heart. Being given a new heart is not to succumb to the passions of the flesh, pride and power, which correlates directly to the three temptations of Yeshua/Jesus. See 1 John 3:9 God has prospered my three children. "Blessed are you Oh God for bringing Thy power into my life by following in the Way of Torah." Genesis 23- 25 Last weeks Torah portion featured two of the matriarchs of Israel – Sarah and Rebekah. So this weeks review we'll consider the influence of women on the world and in life. That being said, this review dovetails nicely into last weeks review where we considered the Davidic Covenant. The following presentation by Rabbi Jonathan Sacks skillfully reviews the important contributions of Ruth and Tamar in the creation of the Kingdom of Israel and the everlasting covenant that God made with King David. (Advance the video to 5 minutes to skip the introductions) Isaiah Chapter 5 Being “Beloved” connotes one who keeps covenant with God. The Endtime Vineyard is the mingled lineages of Israel who apostasies and for which the King of Assyria executes judgment and destroys except a righteous remnant.
