This week we’ll pause our review of Isaiah Decoded and observe America’s day of independence – the Fourth of July. When we look back through the pages of history and the God of Israel, what emerges is God establishing His covenant with Abraham and his posterity. What we also see in the pages of history is the role of Gentiles who function as “saviors” to the House of Israel – to Abraham’s descendants. We saw this occur with Cyrus, King of Persia, who rebuilt the Jerusalem Temple (the Second Temple) and invited Israelites to return. We also see this saving function occur when Great Britain created the State of Israel after World War Two. Likewise, we will again – history repeats itself - see a Gentile aspect for Israel’s Endtime spiritual restoration.

This week in our review of Isaiah Decoded we’ll continue with Chapter 3 - Babylon, Rebels and Worshippers of Idols and look at Babylon. Dr. Gileadi spends much of chapter 3 comparing Babylon to Zion as opposites to get a sense of what defines Babylon. We previously noted that he stated that the primary sins of Babylon are idolatry and injustice – p.72. In this post, we’ll explore the opposites of Babylon and Zion as it relates to these two primary sins. Finally, we’ll introduce how Zion really transcends a higher standard by separating herself from the degeneracies of a fallen world. This week in our review of Isaiah Decoded we’ll continue with Chapter 3 - Babylon, Rebels and Worshippers of Idols and look at Sodom/Gomorrah. We saw last week Mahan sin against the Holy Spirit and killed to obtain worldly gain. What we will see this week is Sodom/Gomorrah commit sin with acts of physical abuse and violence to others. Dr. Gileadi states that the sins of Sodom included tyranny, murder, exploitation, and sodomy – P.77. The common thread that we see in these four sins is the physical abuse and violence to others or in other words, violence was an integral aspect of Sodom’s sins. This week in our review of Isaiah Decoded we’ll expand the category of Mahan that we saw in our last post. Just above Perdition on Isaiah’s Ladder to Heaven is Mahan. Mahan sins against the light and truth that they had as Believers and have fully embraced the carnality and wickedness of a fallen world. By rejecting God’s Law, they suffer for their own sins. Nevertheless, they are redeemed from Universal Sin – the sin of Adam and Eve – and are saved from eternal death inheriting the lowest of God’s eternal realms. This week in our review of Isaiah Decoded, we’ll begin our review of Chapter 3 – Babylon, Rebels and Worshippers of Idols. What a person should see in chapter 3 is that Dr. Gileadi lumps all of the wicked who are saved into one category – Babylon. Though there is some logic to this view, one additional category of the wicked that appears in the scriptures and is a greater degree of evil is the example of Sodom and Gomorrah. Sodom and Gomorrah become so reprehensible to God that He Himself destroy them. This week we’ll introduce two additional categories to Dr. Gileadi’s Babylon category. |
