In last week's post, we reviewed a revival of Torah observance rising in America - the Messianic Movement. This week we will consider the Return of Elijah, who like Moses leads a remnant out of wickedness. Every Passover, practicing Jews set a place for Elijah at their Seder tables. Various reasons for this practice exists but one Endtime possibility is to memorialize the prophecy that Elijah will return before the Endtime judgement on the wicked is executed - Malachi 4:5,6. Here, we will look at various aspects of this returning Elijah. In this week's post, we’ll look at a fairly recent phenomenon in America - the Messianic Movement. This Messianic Movement is essentially a “blow-back” from the elements of apostasy that are growing in America that was the topic of last week's post on the Latter-Day Gentile Apostasy. The self-destructive elements discussed last week leads to an abandonment of divine law - the law that sustains life - the Torah. In addition to the cycle of apostasy that recurs in the Bible and throughout history, there is also a linear aspect to our earth history and future that is indicated in the Bible. We’ll look at how this Messianic Movement plays into this linear aspect of our world's future. In this post, we’ll look at the latter-day Gentile apostasy. We set the stage in the previous post that America was founded on the principles of liberty set out in the Law given to ancient Israel. Therefore, rejection of the biblical laws and principles in America’s form of government underpinning Americas Constitution becomes key to this latter-day apostasy. Topics in this review include the traditions of men, self-sovereignty and corrupted leadership. One of the great commonalities that the Founding of America has with Ancient Israel, is that God freed ancient Israel from Egyptian bondage and created a free nation. We see that here with America, God creating a free nation from the oppression of British rule, and that much of what made America’s system of free government was based on the laws and principles reveal to Moses and instituted by ancient Israel. |
